MARSEC Signs Comply with U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security regulations Title 33 – Navigation and Navigable Waters. Maritime Security (MARSEC) identification signs are designed in bold for quick viewing from a distance. The three level codes designate which security measures are in effect. When Homeland Security issues a National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Alert, the U.S. Coast Guard adjusts the MARSEC level as appropriate to the threat. Post MARSEC signs at the entrance of a port facility, dock approach, or boarding area of a vessel. Each 12" x 18" sign signifies one of the three security code levels. The non-glare polycarbonate plastic is specially formulated to resist color change, chemicals, corrosion, and abrasions - and will continue to look good for years, and maintain its superior strength.
The two-ply, heavy-duty construction provides a rugged, yet stylish appearance with a thick-edge design and industrial-strength backing.
The legend and message are reverse-printed with UV resistant inks on the underside of the clear polycarbonate. This sub-surface image is sealed with further protection on the backside by a permanently bonded, laminate poly sheet.
The composite sign is nearly 1/4" thick and will not crack, chip, or become brittle under extreme environments - indoors and outdoors - with service temperature range for polycarbonate at -60° to 260°F. and under layer surface -40° to 176°F.
Has rounded corners and 1/4" mounting holes for signs up to 14" x 20" and 3/8" mounting holes for larger size signs.
